Mission Statement of the Kirk Session
At our Elders Conference in Newcastle on Saturday 19th August 2000, we the Kirk Session in First Dromore Presbyterian Church affirm our commitment to glorify God intentionally and joyfully in everything.
-
As elders, we declare our growing passion for God’s uncontested supremacy in our souls, in our homes, in our Session and in the Congregation we love,
-
As elders we believe that God is glorified when all our congregational activities constantly proclaim with relevance the Good News of salvation from sin through personal and exclusive faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
-
As elders we affirm the God will be glorified as unashamedly we find ways of increasing our dependence on the Scriptures.
-
As elders we proclaim that God will be glorified as Session and Congregation follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ in everything.
-
As elders, we hold that it is to God’s glory that we express our humble submission to Him in giving prayer an unrivalled place in our personal lives and in our congregational life.
-
As elders, we believe that God will be glorified as we explore ways of cultivating a climate of increasing love in the congregation and Christian concern for those outside our bounds.
-
As elders, we affirm that it is to God’s glory when our worship is regulated by His Word and is relevant.
-
As elders, we believe that God is glorified as we depend consciously on the Holy Spirit to enable us to do what He commands
As elders, we honestly confess that we are all prone to make mistakes. We ask for the prayers of God’s people in the Congregation that we may be more and more faithful in our calling to shepherd the Congregation, and that we will be gracious and earnest in applying the principles in this statement to every area of First Dromore
