Welcome to the website of First Dromore Presbyterian Church, Northern Ireland.
Our church buildings stand on a hill in the south of Dromore, County Down. They are surrounded by new housing developments such as The Spires, Belfry and Priory, Heronwood, Beresford Green, Beresford Hill, Church Meadows, and Church Green. Altogether, nearly 500 new houses have sprung up around us in the past 15 years and we are keen to reach out with all that we have … and all that we have is Christ.
For many people, churches seem out of touch and irrelevant. Everyday life and church life don't seem to blend together. But I believe that a congregation motivated by a fascination with Christ and with his Word has an unbelievable array of resources to help ordinary people deal with the thousand and one stresses of contemporary living.
As a community of Christians, First Dromore isn't out to make a name for itself or to grow so that it can feel proud. Rather, we want to support people in the deep and perhaps dark places of their living so they can make sense of and find joy in their existence. Our congregation embraces people of all ages at various stages in their knowledge of God. As you will see from other parts of this website, we aim to have something for everyone.
In 2007, I have taking the theme of leadership to guide my ministry. It is an important subject that centres ultimately on the leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ.
